Date of Birth:
September 9, 1977
Height:
6'3"
Weight:
245 lbs
Hometown:
Sunset Coast, Australia
Personality:
Inside the ring, Steve is a man who fights with honor, but at the same time is extremely intense, ice-cold and determined in his efforts to attain complete superiority in every match. He views all opponents in one of two categories- enemies, or objectives to plow through and take down in order to attain victory. There are no ‘friendly matches’ or ‘going easy’ in Steve Jason’s book. Rather than the arrogance of some wrestlers, he merely shows solid confidence and near-unshakable resolve to get the job done- and this carries through to his promos, where he varies anywhere from challenging his opponents to give him hell to ripping into everything about them depending.
Steve’s out of ring character depends on who exactly he’s dealing with. With friends, while he’s not necessarily the ultra-enthusiastic party man, he’s usually friendly, open and loyal almost to a fault. With acquaintances (and the vast majority of people he encounters falls into this category), he’s civil but can be quite reserved depending on the person. With hostiles, he’s downright cold- and that’s if you’re lucky.
The past couple of years have not been kind to Steve, with betrayal after betrayal on some of the most intimate levels, first from his old federation, then from his fiancee. This has left him somewhat bitter towards the industry and the people within it, and his trust is harder than ever to achieve, leaving him cordial but aloof. But even with that in mind, he still holds fiery dedication and persistence towards his one drive in Platinum - redemption.
Physical Description:
In terms of build, he leans more towards athletic and lean than bulky and muscular. While his facial expressions vary on mood, he has an alert and active look about him, with occasional flashes of introspection. His eyes are an icy blue-gray, his nose is aquiline. His short-cropped hair is mostly a dark brown save for the temples, where the odd strand of gray can be seen. His face is clean-shaven, and he's got scars on his right cheek, throat and up the left side of his ribcage.
Ethnicity:
Caucasian

WRESTLER'S IN-RING INFO
Alignment:
Face - plays by the rules, honorable, fans love him.
Wrestling Style:
Technical / Martial Arts
Strengths:
Analytical/tactical - he doesn't just outfight his opponents, he puts together a game plan to out-think, outwin and gain superiority and advantage as long as possible.
He's known for very high levels of endurance and damage - when on his game, it takes a lot to put him down.
He's been in the game for a long time now and has spent most of that trying to master the craft - he knows a lot of tricks of the trade.
Weaknesses:
As he depends on superiority and advantage, if he loses either he can find it hard to recover and can be swarmed.
His chain serves as a pretty easy thing to grab onto.
While mostly in good condition, he has racked up a couple of sore spots (stabwound in the abdomen / vertebral injury on the upper back) that can be exploited.
While still in good nick, he's 39 and is approaching the end of his shelf life, so won't be as sharp as he used to be
Entrance Theme:
"Midlife Crisis" by Faith No More (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8b88US-6ts)
Entrance Description:
Icy-blue lights suddenly light up the arena as the heavy drumbeats that accompany the beginning of "Midlife Crisis" by Faith No More reverberate around the arena for a few moments. Blue and white beams of light begin sweeping around the general entrance area of the arena as Steve Jason emerges, decked out in a silk white short-sleeved shirt over his ringwear, marching with a purpose down towards the ramp. He doesn't waste any time stopping and posturing on the way down the ring, striding down with purpose in time to the music and vocals. As he reaches the foot of the ring, he waits for a couple of moments then coils into aciton, leaping up to the top in one bound and over the top rope to the next. As he begins to move towards one of the turnbuckles, blue and white lights washing over his form, he slides his arms out of the shirt and seems to literally spring out of it up to the turnbuckles, leaving him in his ring boardshorts as he raises his arms to the crowd. He stands there for several seconds, closing his eyes and soaking up the atmosphere of the ringside area, then springs back down to the canvas and crouches in a combat stance.

Biography:
Steve Jason was born nearly thirty-five years ago in a home-birth at his family's home in Sorrento, a suburb on the beachside strip of the Sunset Coast in Perth, Western Australia, to affluent parents - Richard, a successful attorney, and Elaine, a school-teacher. During his youth in the late 80s and early 90s, Steve grew up as part of the surf culture in that area - spending virtually every out-of-school moment roaming along the stretches of coastal suburbia, whether it be skateboarding, surfing, straight-up hanging out. It was here that Steve first developed the spiritual affinity to water that shows in his professional wrestling approach today - calm and steady one moment, intense and powerful the next. His youth was not plagued by the poverty, crime, orphanhood and personal tragedy that seemed to plague so many of his fellow wrestlers - on the contrary, Steve had little if anything to complain about during his teenage years.
During that time, Steve's second love involved professional wrestling. Like so many kids in the late 80s and early 90s, Steve made it a point to catch the show every weekend on TV, entranced by the brave gladiators who fought for glory and honor in the ring - somewhat ironic, given the grittier side he was exposed to during his actual career. While relatively intelligent, doing B-average at school and aiming for university, Steve wanted to do one of two things - surf professionally, or wrestle professionally. Neither sat well with his rich parents, who insisted his focus be on academic endeavors as he crossed into college, but he was supported by his long-time best friend Dougy McNamara, who cheered him on every step of the way, his girlfriend Felicia who supported him, and his black sheep uncle Lance, a Vietnam vet who encouraged Steve to chase the adventures of life. Steve did well at surfing, winning local competitions, but it wasn't really enough to make a living out of. His martial arts abilities, however, seemed razor-sharp and he seemed to be developing the strength, speed and mind to make a great fighter in the ring. Thus it was that, at the age of twenty, Steve left Australia for Japan, training underneath a Shotokan master while working part-time at a McDonald's. That training expanded as he visited Korea, China and Vietnam, and then eventually places like Israel, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Mexico and Canada, picking up fighting skills in some countries, wrestling skills in others.
In 2001, it was finally time for him to enter the industry, making his debut in Chicago and winning major titles - including the CCWF World Championship - within months. It wasn't long that CCWF went bust however, and he began a pilgrimage over to the X-Treme Wrestling Federation with other CCWF refugees. It was here that Steve truly reached what could be considered stardom - he fell in with a variety of influential individuals, such as real-estate heiress Talia Richards, who became one of Steve's closest confidantes and agents. He would later be joined by his best friend Dougy, who eventually became a C-grade celebrity when he wasn't getting drunk off Steve's dime. As time went by, he won titles, established legacies and won both friends and enemies. A regular target of 'dark' wrestlers due to his upbeat take on life and moral principles, Steve was known for taking the fight to them, even falling in with vigilantes on occasion. One of his most memorable moments was his alliance with friend Jem Williams, the two men dubbing themselves the 'Unkillables' after the sheer amount of attempts to end their careers each man survived. There were occasional spats between the men, but by and large, they were like brothers and carved legacies. And then, there was his now-infamous love affair with fellow wrestler Heather Halliwell, probably on record as one of the more passionate soul-crossed romances in the industry - before it went to hell, anyway. Crowned with forays into the nightclub industry, it was good to be king.
But it got old. At heart Steve was a warrior, not an entrepreneur or celebrity, and stardom was boring. In 2008, after a long stretch of monotony having risen to the top in the land of Xtreme, Steve was approached by Jem Williams, and it was suggested that the two men transplant themselves over to Platinum Dynasty Wrestling, a federation which was run by acquaintance Star Deveraux. It was a clean slate for them both - a new ladder to climb and a new field to conquer. Upon arriving, Steve was impressed with the quality of the opponents he faced, fighting new and exciting individuals each week and soaking up a whole new atmosphere in Philadelphia. It wasn't the star-studded worship of LA and the X-Treme, but it wasn't monotonous big-fish-in-small-pond stuff either. In time, Steve found himself on the opposite end of the supergroup known as 'The Pantheon', the members of which would each prove to be the deadliest opponents Steve faced in some time. However, at the crucial moment of his victory, with the Platinum Championship in the balance, he failed to stop them, and suffered an injury that saw him out of Platinum. He could not recover in time to return - the federation had closed before he could rehabilitate.
For the past several years since his last stint, Steve's career seems to be slowly winding down. He did make the odd pilgrimages to the federation of his rise, but they were few and far between and it was clear that Steve's heart wasn't exactly in it the way it used to be. Instead he focused on his own business ventures and training various individuals, as well as focusing on trying to make his engagement to Heather Halliwell work.
2011 saw what would ultimately become a downward spiral in Steve's career - and personal life. His ties with the XWF were severed forever when management had sought to bring back Chad and Cyren, two malcontents who Steve and the interim leadership of the XWF had fought hard to see exiled for their heinous actions - stalking, death threats, drug abuse, attempted and possible actual murder, you name it, they did it. An enraged Steve confronted the management of his old stamping grounds, demanding to know how they could in good conscience welcome back known psychopaths, and was simply told that they wished to build a future around these individuals and that he should simply 'deal with it'. That move saw Steve throw his Legend status away, decking an executive for good measure and burning his ties to the industries it would seem.
Things went from bad to worse. He sought refuge with his fiancee Heather Halliwell in the WGWF, only to find that she had betrayed him for a much richer and more powerful man, and that she had transformed herself into a vamped-up version of herself he didn't even recognise. With his employers and, apparently, most of his friends turned against him, Steve faded away from the public eye, appearing on occasion at special non-sanctioned events but generally leaving the world behind him.
But time heals all wounds, as they say. In recent years Steve seems to have mended a lot of the bridges with his old colleagues and even with Heather, opting for a somewhat quiet life flitting between Australia and California, trading in winning titles for a far tougher set of challenges - suburban life. With his fortieth birthday around the corner and with the inevitable end-of-shelf-life that entails, Steve appears to have resigned himself by and large to retirement. But even he couldn't turn down the invitation that came calling to the Raven's Nest...
